Guardians, Northern Territory – No. 8

Archive

This image is a response to the rugged landscape near Borroloola in the gulf area of the Northern Territory’s Limmen Bight River Region. The anthropomorphic sandstone structures are intended to symbolise ‘Guardians’ protecting the land and the waterholes which were a life source critical to the survival of the Australian Aboriginal people.
