My View
My art practice originated with a strong emphasis on woodcut printing and etching. More recently it involves working across multiple mediums incorporating drawing, print, sculpture and painting, experimenting with diverse materials and methods.
The work is about dual identities with a focus on human relationships and the extent to which we expose or hide our true identity in social encounters. Anthropomorphic elements in nature have provided a metaphor for human connection and communication. The simplification of forms at ambiguous scale and emphasis on the formal qualities of shape, space, colour and composition are explored in the construction of the works.
